Therefore, starting July 1, 2026, BG BAU will for the first time fund drones as an occupational safety measure with up to
€2,000 per member company per year .Not only suitable C1 and C2 drones are funded, but also the EU drone license Class A2, including practical training, and registration with the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA). This means your complete entry into professional drone use is eligible for funding – from the drone to the license.

What is funded and what is the grant amount?
Since July 1, 2026, BG BAU has subsidized both the purchase of drones and the acquisition of the A2 drone pilot's license, as well as registration with the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA). The funding is contribution-dependent and amounts to up to €2,000 per year and member company.
BG BAU covers up to 50% of the total net costs for the drone, A2 drone pilot's license, and LBA registration, but a maximum of €2,000 per company and calendar year.
The following are funded:
- Certified C1 or C2 drones such as the DJI Matrice 4E and DJI Matrice 4T
- The EU A2 drone pilot's license including practical training
- The registration of your drone with the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA)
How to apply for funding
Based on current information, processing usually takes only a few weeks. The administrative burden is manageable and significantly less than with many other funding programs.
