Faster & more accurate PV planning: Sascha Kloß relies on Airteam & SMA Sunny Design!

Challenges
Many solar companies still spend hours using ladders and measuring roofs by hand. Alternatively, many put on satellite data, which, however, often provide low resolution and only 2D data. This slows down the PV planning process, affects accuracy and poses a significant safety risk.
Solution
Sascha Kloß already knew the benefits of drones and digital building dimensions from previous projects. Through social media, he learned that Airteam Aerial Intelligence recently partnered with Sunny Design from SMA, a leading manufacturer of solar technology, to offer an integrated software solution for planning solar systems.
Airteam Aerial Intelligence uses drone technology, 3D modeling tools, and artificial intelligence to avoid climbing roofs. This reduces time on site by up to 90% and increases planning accuracy to avoid rescheduling, change orders or delays on the installation day. The images taken by the drone were used in SMA Sunny Design, a special software for planning solar systems, to create accurate 3D models of the roof. The models included precise measurements and topographic data, which simplified the planning of the solar system.
Scores
Within a few hours, Sascha Kloß received a detailed 3D model of the building, which he can use directly in the browser and can also simply share with his partners, such as scaffolders and roofers, via a link. Sascha then imports the 3D building data directly into SMA Sunny Design, which has many advantages for him.
