How Energieinsel gains prospects through Airteam

Challenge: Time-consuming and cumbersome roof measurement
Before working with Airteam, Energieinsel relied on manual roof measurement. The process was time-consuming and required the use of a folding rule, laser measuring device and tape measure. Each object was precisely measured on site, and the collected data was then digitized and transferred to a 3D model.
Although Energieinsel showed the highest level of accuracy, the effort was enormous. Especially for larger commercial properties, the survey could quickly require two days of work for two people. Manual recording also required ladders or roof inspections, which was both cumbersome and potentially risky.
Solution: Drone-based 3D measurement with Airteam and SolarEdge integration
Energieinsel became aware of Airteam via an article in pv magazine. After a personal meeting, it quickly became clear that this technology is the future.
Although the Energieinsel team already had drone experience, they took part in individual training with Airteam to get the most out of Airteam.
The training was practical and tailored to the specific needs of Energy Island. The individual support and efficient transfer of expertise were particularly appreciated.
Today, Energieinsel uses Airteam to digitally measure roofs and create 3D models. Instead of time-consuming manual measurement, the entire object is recorded by drone and the data is integrated directly into the planning tool. This not only eliminates the tedious measurement process, but also significantly simplifies post-processing.
A key advantage for Energy Island is integration with SolarEdge. Previously, the measurement data had to be digitized manually and transferred to the software — a complex and error-prone process. Energy Island can now download the finished 3D data directly from Airteam and import it into SolarEdge Designer. This not only reduces time and effort, but also significantly improves planning accuracy.
Energieinsel also uses Airteam's visualization options specifically for customer advice. The first occupancy concept is created directly with Airteam, while the models are further processed for more precise yield forecasts. The result: more efficient planning and professional customer presentation.
A surprising positive side effect: During drone flights, Energieinsel often informs the customer's neighbors — and thus attracts additional interested parties for photovoltaic systems.
By working with Airteam, Energieinsel has not only increased efficiency, but also created a clear competitive advantage — with more accurate data, faster planning and stronger customer loyalty.
